Bob "Pappy" Dearing passed away Wednesday night, January 19, 2000. This occurred peacefully while he was sleeping. He was found in bed on Thursday morning. He was 91 years and exactly 3 months old.

Pappy is one of the founding members and past commander of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Jeep Posse in Phoenix, Arizona. He is a past commander of the National Search and Rescue Association.

"Pappy, we will miss you and everything you have brought to the MCSO Jeep Posse and National S&R over these many years.

You were always there; during the good times, the hard work on the trail, during the searches, through the rough times and always when a helping hand was needed.

And you were always ready to stand up and entertain us with a story. We will cherish the memories from those times.

You may be missed, but, you will not be forgotten!

Say, "Hello" for us to Pat Silverthorn. One day we will join you."
